She spoke of her a personal experience from her past including her intimate relationship with the Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie "Obidi Pompidi".
In her book, actress Yvonne revealed that she had an affair in 2010, with the most awarded Ghanaian rapper “Sarkodie” whose real name is “Michael Owusu Addo”, which resulted in a pregnancy.
She recounts the heartbreaking decision to have an abortion because the rapper did not accept responsibility. According to her, the rapper claimed he had a girlfriend.
“I took a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who was missing her monthly flow.
According to the actress, “Sarkodie was a promising musician, with the potential to become one of the greatest artists in the world.
“At the time, however, the future seemed uncertain and his dire situation still seemed too hazy to predict. Success was not guaranteed.
So He was not ready to take any responsibility, he depended on his mother. Further, Yvonne admits that their relationship was not serious.
"I wouldn't call it a serious relationship. I turned to people in the music industry, and for the longest moment of my life, music kept me out of all the nasty things the future had in store for me.
Indeed, I liked his talent. We started talking and got closer. Closer,” said the book.
I was with Karen. And when the test result was ready, I was not strong enough to open it. She even dared to open it. Inside the envelope was sinister information that could have turned my world upside down.
“I was not the only one responsible for this trouble, so I called the man who put the water in Coco.
His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian rapper better known as “Sarkodie,” she further mentioned in the book.
CEO of YN Productions says the incident, which happened when she was 25 and at a time when her acting career had really taken off, interrupted the humanitarian endeavors she had embarked on and other opportunities she had in Nigeria.
Lesson to learn
“Having an abortion is one of the most regrettable mistakes in life. If the time clock could be rewound to my younger self, I would keep it.
But the benefit of hindsight is not useful because lessons learned cannot be applied retrospectively,” the book sums up.
